Ecolab Employee Engagement Channel Strategy
The Employee Engagement Channel Strategy project was my summer 2024 internship project at Ecolab. I had 10 weeks to create a strategic and comprehensive recommendation of internal communication channels for the business’s North American sales teams. I interviewed over 82 people nationwide to discover which communication channels were engaging and which ones the company needed to cut. With the help of my manager, Koryn Franson, I made recommendations to streamline communication to the Territory Representatives, who make up 80% of the sales force in the business, facilitate two-way communication, and increase transparency with the sales team. This project taught me that I can help the company and the world by creating new systems to effectively communicate company objectives to the people who are on the front lines. It was a fantastic opportunity to merge my passions of sustainability and connecting with others. I am so excited to join Ecolab again this summer!

Sour Summer
The Sour Patch Kids project was an agency simulator project in my Creative Campaigns (J445) class with Professor Pete Long. The task was to create an advertising campaign for the Sour Patch Kids brand by identifying key insights and the target audience and creating promotional materials based on that information. My partner, Annie Stockwell, and I created three TV advertisement mockups, one Instagram post mockup, two social media ads, one example podcast script, and one billboard mockup. We chose the tagline “Want a Bite” as the Big Idea for our campaign. The tagline and themes appeared in all of our creative deliverables, usually with someone taking a bite of a Sour Patch Kid, or in the example of the billboard, the candy has a bite mark in it already. This project took about 3 weeks to complete. We spent about a week designing the creative deliverables for the project. Overall, I saw my Photoshop skills grow, and I learned, on a small scale, how to put an advertising campaign together.

TESOL Project
The TESOL project was an agency simulator project in my Creative Campaigns (J445) class with Professor Pete Long. My team had 4 weeks to create a promotional campaign recommendation for the Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) certificate program. Our client wanted us to focus on updating promotional materials, including a strategic website recommendation. Our recommendations included updating the website with new pictures, creating an Instagram account, creating a LinkedIn group for alumni to connect with students, and updating print materials. As the account director of this team, I learned how to lead a team of eight to meet deliverable deadlines and produce a product that was implemented immediately by our client.

Apple Jacks Campaign
The Apple Jacks campaign was an agency simulator project in my Intro to Strategic Communication (J345) class with Professor Pete Long. My team had 14 weeks to create a full (simulated) advertising campaign recommendation for the Apple Jacks. We started by identifying our target market and developing a campaign strategy. We then had to develop a Big Idea, commercials, and promotional ideas for TV and social media. We also had to create some PR ideas and do media buying. As the account director of this team, I learned how to lead a team of five to meet deliverable deadlines and create a campaign that resonated with our judges and classmates. Our team developed the runner-up campaign chosen out of 13 campaigns.
