Gordon

I work as the Head Student Supervisor at Gordon Dining and Event Center. As the Head Supervisor, I directly supervise over 300 student employees, lead a team of 4 office supervisors and 42 shift leads.

It is my responsibility to hire and plan training for shift leads and team members. I have initiated leadership training and a mentor program for new students. I also have increased engagement and retention initiatives by planning events and helping with the UW Dining Instagram. I also maintain budget records and report numbers on a weekly basis.

I believe my job description should be crisis management and conflict resolution. Usually if there is a problem, people are looking to me for a solution. I am a collaborative, people-first leader who can adapt quickly when conflict arises.

Badgers for IBD

In 2024, I Co-Founded a student organization called Badgers for IBD. It is a community where other IBD patients have a safe space to share their story.

I am the Social Media & Recruitment Chair, so I attend every meeting and make an effort to promote our club on campus.

My partners and I connected with the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation to partner with them for resources. I took a class and became a certified Support Group Facilitator. We have also planned IBD education nights and have a nutrition night coming up.

Association for Women in Communications

I serve as the Fundraising Director for the Association for Women in Communications (AWC) - Madison Chapter. In this role, I have organized fundraising efforts to raise over $200 last semester. I have formed connections with local business owners such as Forage Kitchen, Poke Plus, MacTaggarts Deli,  FreshFin, and Milios to help raise awareness for our work.

AWC has helped me grow my professional and networking skills. I love being a part of an organization that is so uplifting and supportive of other women.

Who am I Outside of School and Work?

Now, here's a little bit about my exciting side!

I love to read! Last year I read 39 books, and my goal for this year is 45. I read all genres, but my favorites are fiction, romance, and fantasy. This year, I am trying to read one non-fiction book monthly to keep my mind sharp.

I also love to hang out with my family and friends. I have three siblings, and we love to play games and be outside! I have been watching The Bachelor with my friends, and we also love to try new restaurants. â€‹
